The Gyula Pauer Center is located in Miller Hall with facilities in the Whitehall Classroom Buidling. The Center works on a variety of supported projects with faculty, campus offices, and government agencies. Integration of GIS and graphic design tools with cartographic design is a focus of the Center's work.
The Pauer Center provides fee-based mapping services to UK faculty and students, as well as authors, researchers, publishers, and commercial customers.
Custom Digital Cartography for Print
The Pauer Center produces custom maps and graphics to clients’ and publishers’ specifications. Our work has been featured in more than 200 books, and countless journals, brochures, and posters.
In addition to purely cartographic services, the Pauer Center can also help support and extend your GIS project. From consultation to creating and editing data to complex spatial analyses, the Pauer Center can help transform your data into publication-quality research. Jeff Levy has more than 20 years experience using ESRI software, and can help you solve your GIS goals. The Pauer Center can also provide custom GIS training sessions for your department or organization.
Non-profits and community and campus organizations may also seek the assistance of the University of Kentucky Mapshop. The Mapshop provides free access to UK students, faculty, and cartographic staff in the production of geographic representations.
