Who are geographers?

Geographers get jobs. Geographers work in business, government and nonprofits, leveraging data and fieldwork to understand our dynamic planet, including its environmental, economic, social and political systems. Geographers explore the world through perspectives on space, place and landscape. They study spatial relations, meanings of place and placemaking in our lives and changing urban and rural landscapes. They employ scientific methods, concepts and theories of our social fabric while using state-of-the-art methods in digital data analysis, mapping and cartography. 
 
We offer three primary concentrations for our Geography Undergraduate Majors (B.A. and B.S.):
 
  1. Mapping & Geographic Information Systems.
  2. Environment.
  3. Cities & Societies.

We also offer three minor concentrations in geography, mapping & GIS and urban studies. Students wanting to focus their studies intensively on Mapping and GIS should pursue a B.A .or B.S. in mapping and GIScience.
