Rich Donohue is a web cartographer and geographer. He is Assistant Professor of Geography at the University of Kentucky. Rich's scholarship synthesizes the implementation of emerging technical solutions with GIScience and web cartography. His research and teaching examines interface design to support cartographic interaction, geovisualization, and digital storytelling with a particular interest in using and furthering the use of open source critical mapping and GIS technologies. In all of his projects, Rich aims to empower students and map viewers to understand and share their world through the visual representation and experience of spatial information. He originated the curriculum, led the design of, and oversees the University of Kentucky New Maps Plus graduate program since 2015, which has enrolled over 200 students in the cutting-edge work of critical online mapping.

* Please note: I am not currently supervising PhD students. My work is primarily mentoring MS students within our online Digital Mapping program.
