Lodging and Travel Information Page

Hotels:

We recommend booking rooms at one of the following hotels, which are located closest to campus. Please note: hotel rooms will be scarce because our conference coincides with the Keeneland fall race meet (information is here: https://www.keeneland.com/calendar/2016-fall-race-meet).

Hyatt, Downtown Lexington

Home2 Suites by Hilton, UK Medical Center

Request Lodging Through UK Student Housing

The University of Kentucky Student Housing Office may be able to accommodate a limited number of participants during the conference. The rates will be around $30 per night per apartment, and participants will need to share the apartment. Linen packets can be requested for an extra fee of $10. Please let us know if you would like to consider this option. Email Lacin at lacin.t@uky.edu.

Request a Homestay:

We also have a limited number of spots available for attendees wishing to lodge with local hosts associated with our department. If you would like to request a homestay, please do so by using this Google form: https://goo.gl/forms/ATxYmXofJJmJUZhm2. We will contact you as soon as possible to let you know whether, and hopefully where, we are able to place you. If you have any questions, please contact Laçin at lacin.t@uky.edu.

Airports:

Lexington Bluegrass Airport (LEX) is the most convenient travel location, but Cincinnati (CVG) and Louisville (SDF) are only 80 miles drive away. Southwest Airlines serves Louisville, which may be a cheaper flight option for some. You will likely need to rent a car from these locations to Lexington.

Local Transportation:

Lextran runs buses to and from the airport. Routes and maps are available here:

http://lextran.com/

Taxis:

A number of cab companies are operating between downtown and the airport.

Bluegrass Cab: (859) 223-8888

Lexington Taxi Cab: (859) 242-5230

Yellow Cab Lexington: (859) 231-8294

Uber also operates in Lexington, KY.
