A native of Lexington and graduate of the University of Kentucky, Eric Coy is a second year MA student with interests in economic geography. Eric's thesis is an examination of the housing market in Lexington, KY. He is interested in comparing and contrasting Lexington's housing market before and after the financial crisis in 2008 to other markets around the country--partiuclarly those hardest hit after the collapse of the subprime mortgage market such as Reno, NV, Pensacola, FL, amongst others. His research is related to broader work within economic geography and the social sciences which focuses on the financialization of the U.S.(and global) economy.
